Road handling is based on two factors. The first is damping know-how. For a very long time, PEUGEOT manufactured its own suspension components in-house, acquiring invaluable experience over time. According to the Dynamic Synthesis engineers, this experience in shock absorber design has been key to mastering the vehicle's dynamics.

According to Gaëtan Demoulin, who was in charge of chassis synthesis and Peugeot customer synthesis for many years, the road environment around the historic Sochaux/Belchamp site is the second factor that enables efficient fine-tuning, as well as an understanding of roadholding, comfort and steering pleasure. The development and validation of all ranges were carried out here. 

This unique PEUGEOT characteristic is far from new. While the 301 (the first mass-produced car in the world to be equipped with independent front wheels) can be traced back to the 1930s, it was the 205 GTi  that gave rise to the idea that a PEUGEOT has superior roadholding.

Since then, a number of models have perpetuated this road handling, including the 308 sedan and the 3008 SUV. What do they have in common? Both feature the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit.
