The Shanghai Motorshow is renowned as the most influential automotive exhibition in Asia. It attracts thousands of visitors, journalists and automotive professionals every year. The 2023 edition boasts the largest automotive show ever held in China, with a total of 906,000 visitors and the presence of over 13,000 domestic and international medias.
In 2022, the Chinese market for new energy vehicles reached an impressive 6,8 million units sold, accounting for two-thirds of the global total. China is also the largest exporter of electric vehicles, reflecting its growing influence in the development of the global automotive industry.
China is therefore considered an ideal testing ground for electric vehicles. Chinese customers have widely adopted electric vehicles, with electrification penetration reaching 30%. In Q1 2023. In addition, charging infrastructure is well developed in China, with charging stations at every service station and in some tier 1-2 cities at least 30% of parking spaces in shopping centers reserved for electrification.
Indeed, the Chinese government has strongly encouraged the installation of charging stations and battery exchange stations over the past decade. This proactive policy is facilitating the expansion of electrification in the country. Today, electric cars in China are offered at competitive pricing compare with traditional cars, giving customers the freedom to choose. Chinese new EV brands offer direct sales platform and setup showroom in shopping malls in order to create a unique customer experience.
The PEUGEOT stand at the Show enabled it to assert its presence on the Chinese market. At the Shanghai Motor Show, Linda Jackson, CEO of the Brand, highlighted Peugeot's electrification vision, capacity for innovation through the PEUGEOT 408X (version of the PEUGEOT 408 intended for the Chinese market) and the PEUGEOT INCEPTION concept car, both of which were featured on the stand:
"Both the PEUGEOT 408X and the PEUGEOT INCEPTION CONCEPT are a perfect demonstration of PEUGEOT's capacity for innovation and a brilliant illustration of the brand's three values: Allure, Emotion, Excellence. With their spectacular appearance, these two vehicles will introduce PEUGEOT to Chinese customers in a particularly attractive new light.”
The Lion Brand therefore distinguishes itself from brands by emphasising its French origin. This approach is proving effective when we know that it is PEUGEOT that comes to mind for Chinese consumers when they think of a French brand.
It is not customary to use the term "Allure" in Chinese culture: there is no literal translation.

Here is the allure written in ideogram : 动感时尚的法式魅力. This means: “dynamic and stylish French charm”. So chic! So it is by emphasizing the dynamic aspect and the French elegance that the PEUGEOT brand stands out.
Concerning Excellence: 质感 and Emotion : 动感, we give free rein to your language skills ... or to your imagination!
