PLUG-IN HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
As a major player in every technological revolution, PEUGEOT is serenely tackling the energy transition with the conviction that technology is still and always at the service of motoring pleasure. Plug-in hybrid technology draws on two sources of energy for getting around: it combines an electric motor with a battery that can be recharged and a petrol engine. Because of this, you benefit from driving in 100% electric mode for up to 39 milesThe fuel consumption or electric range achieved, and CO2 produced, in real world conditions will depend upon a number of factors including, but not limited to: the accessories fitted (pre and post registration); the starting charge of the battery (PHEV only); variations in weather; driving styles and vehicle load. The plug-in HYBRID range requires mains electricity for charging. The WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) is used to measure fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 figures. Figures shown are for comparison purposes and should only be compared to the fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 values of other cars tested to the same technical standard. The figures displayed for the plug-in HYBRID range were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. for short journeys and using the combustion engine for long journeys.
PEUGEOT offers a range of plug-in hybrid vehicles with the new 508, 508 SW, 508 PEUGEOT Sport Engineered and the PEUGEOT 3008 (available as a 4-wheel drive: HYBRID4).
HYBRID ENGINE
A combination of electric and petrol engines
OPTIMAL AND IMPERCEPTIBLE TRANSITIONS
To alternate between the electric and combustion engines, the torque converter of the combustion version gives way to a wet multiplate clutch to offer a 60 Nm increase in torque and greater responsiveness.
ELECTRIC REAR SUSPENSION
On the HYBRID4 version, the multi-link rear axle is equipped with a 110 hp/80 kW electric motor to provide 4-wheel drive, without impacting the interior.
PETROL ENGINE
The 1.6L PureTech engine has been adapted, with a starter-alternator and a specific cooling front panel. It develops 180 hp on HYBRID and 200 hp on HYBRID4 versions.
NEW ELECTRIC AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
The PureTech engine is combined with the new e-EAT8 8-speed automatic gearbox. In combination with the gearbox, an electric motor develops 100 hp/ 80 kW on the front axle.
BATTERY
Lithium-ion
In order to optimise CO2 emissions, choose driving in full electric mode for daily urban trips. Electric travel can reach up to 83 mph before the combustion engine takes over.
CHARGING
Simple and fast
The charging flap is located on the left rear wingSymmetrical with the fuel cap .
Charging times:
- Less than 1 hour 45 minutes with a 7.4 kWh Wallbox using the Type 2 (Mode 3) cable supplied with your vehicle.
- Less than 7 hours on a standard socket (3.7 kW, 8 A charger). You will need to purchase an accessory charger for this type of charging, as it is not recommended as a daily charging solution.
You will be eligible for a free 6-month subscription to bp pulseCustomers are required to provide credit/debit card details to their account when signing up, for any electricity used to be charged to. £7.85 per month payable after the first 6 months for ongoing subscription. When you create a bp pulse account, simply add your PEUGEOT electric vehicle VIN number as the ‘offer code’. Existing bp pulse subscribers can still benefit by contacting the bp pulse help-desk to receive 6 months credit applied to their account. Offer available in conjunction with all other Retail offers. One claim per person per vehicle purchase. Offer not transferable and no cash alternative. PEUGEOT Motor Company reserve the right to amend or withdraw the offer at any time without prior notice. with the purchase of your new plug in HYBRID.
DRIVING PLEASURE
For renewed pleasure
NEW BRAKE FUNCTION
Activating the "Brake" mode (engine brake) limits use of the brake pedal while charging the battery as you decelerate. It also allows the battery to be charged, e.g. when driving downhill. Two braking modes are accessible:
- Moderate: for a feel similar to that of an internal combustion engine vehicle
- Increased: for deceleration controlled by the accelerator pedal
NEW e-SAVE FUNCTION
With the e-SAVE function, the driver can set an electric energy reserve, to be used when desired. This function can, for example, make it possible to keep a reserve of electrical energy in anticipation of a restricted traffic area.
Accessible from the e-SAVE menu on the touchscreen, simply select the Zero Emission mode on the driving mode selector for 100% electric driving.
PEUGEOT i-COCKPIT®
The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® displays driving information in the driver's field of view. It is fully configurable and customisable.
To the right of the digital instrument panel, a powermeter shows 3 zones:
-ECO for energy-optimised driving
-POWER for more dynamic driving
-CHARGE for energy recovery phases
Two gauges are arranged on either side of the instrument panel: one for fuel, the other for electricity. The available range, in miles, is indicated below these gauges.
EASY AND INTUITIVE ERGONOMICS
When charging, the digital instrument panel shows you the recovered range, the recovered charge rate, the charge speed and the remaining time for a full recharge.
The touchscreen incorporates a hybrid menu that provides access to:
-The energy flow page illustrating the operating status of the hybrid system
-Charging stations
-The range of the all-electric mode
-The total electrical + combustion range
