PEUGEOT DROPSIDE VAN
As the name suggests, the side and tailboards are hinged along the lower edge, pivoting down below floor level for loading. Often used by trades in the light construction sector, dropside commercial vehicles are able to carry a mix of loads and equipment as required. By simply removing the side and tailboards, along with the rear corner posts, the Peugeot Boxer Dropside Van can quickly be transformed into an open flatbed body, easily loaded manually or by fork lift.
Lightweight and robust construction are the keys to the Peugeot Dropside trailer. A single sheet of heavy-duty birch plywood is used for the load floor, finished with a non-slip coating. The floor is kept clear of load retaining rings which are incorporated into the powder-coated aluminium perimeter.
Bolted construction is used for the body structure to enable damaged parts to be replaced quickly. Parts can usually be supplied in 24 hours. The body side and tailboards are crafted from one-piece aluminium profiles. With a smooth silver anodised finish, these are easy to keep clean and corporate livery can be easily applied to them. All steel parts have been comprehensively tested to ensure corrosion resistance.
Our Peugeot Dropside Trailer bodies are fitted with a front bulkhead/gantry which extends to the height of the cab. An embossed steel panel fitted to it helps to protect driver and passengers from a shifting load. The gantry’s three load rails provide securing points for loads of different shapes and sizes, with 1,000kg capacity load securing rings in the upper rail, which can also support loads too long to rest on the load floor. Payload for the Built for Business Dropside Van range spans 1,253kg* to 1,441kg*, depending on model.
Three Peugeot Dropside models make up the range; the L2 Single Cab, L3 Crew Cab and L3 Single Cab. These models offer three different deck lengths, giving customers a wide choice of body sizes. The Crew Cab model provides a second row of seats and can carry a driver and up to six passengers.
In addition to the comprehensive standard specification, the Peugeot Boxer Dropside Van is available with an extensive list of options and accessories. Equipment includes a tow bar and electrics, light bars, toolboxes and a tail lift. Standard specification includes a DAB digital radio, manual air conditioning, electric front windows and electrically adjustable, heated door mirrors. The cab incorporates a number of storage areas from large door pockets to two gloveboxes. One of these can be locked. A dual front passenger seat is also standard equipment with the option of a single passenger seat if required. The cab offers secure storage with doors that feature deadlocking and remote control central locking.
